Punchline: I died in 2015 and woke up as Captain Casual. Literally.
Now I specialize in creating happiness. They say the bird doesn’t rest on the branch, but on it’s own wings instead.
I consider myself an extremely grateful person, blessed to be alive let alone doing what I love. The “Captain” name comes from my childhood, growing up an explorer I sailed to over 40 countries before the age of 22. “Casual” is a long time nickname that started as a laugh like a big guy named tiny.
After college I went to work at a finance firm, specializing in stocks and charts. I was one of those people sitting in front of a wall of computers screaming into a phone about the stock market. Fast forward to 2015, living unhealthy and stressed to the max, I flatlined in the back of an ambulance and woke up to them cutting off my shirt. I woke up as Captain Casual. I was a changed man. Perspective and understanding about one of life's biggest mysteries. I decided to spend the rest of my life keeping score by smiles instead of dollars. Using my colors and artwork as a method to spread this happiness. I’m tie dying entire buildings with rainbow sunsets and mixing urban graffiti with unconventional pop art.
Since then I’ve gotten to do some amazing things and work with really cool companies. Created a Happiness Portal and entire color palette for Louis Vuitton in the Design District of Miami. Partnered with Nike to hand paint 150 pairs of cleats and give them to inner city youth football teams in Dallas Texas. Urban Decay in Los Angeles as a graffiti advisor. Under Armour and Steph Curry, Levis and Tilly’s, Neiman Marcus, Effen Vodka and a handful of others.
I couldn’t do any of it without your support. I appreciate you stopping by to read more about me and check out my work. I hope you have a casual day.
Don’t Forget to Have Fun!
